Good pet names - How to choose a pet name
Every pet owner knows that finding the good dog or cat names can
be very difficult. Think about your pet's personality. Does he or
she remind you of a person, character, or character type? Is there
an activity he or she loves to do? Is there a character trait that
jumps out at you? Any of these could suggest a good name. Names
from books, movies, or TV shows you like are often good choices.
Get suggestions from friends or family. They may have great suggestions
you never would have thought of. Once you decide on a name, use
it a lot around your pet. If you want your pet to respond to the
name, offer praise, attention, and even treats if your pet looks
in your direction when you say his or her name. Choose something
that is easy to pronounce.

Choosing a name for your new puppy is quite
a responsibility. Remember that the dog will have this name for the
rest of its life. The name of your dog is the most important tool
of communication between you and your pet. Choose it carefully, because
you would be using it for the next 10 to 15 years. Select a dog name
that is easy to pronounce, and is not offending to anybody. The name
should be easily understood by your dog and should not confuse him.
